Marlene's Personal History

I was born in June 1955 (yes, I am 46) in Oneonta, New York - Marlene Letha Hilsinger - the eldest of 5 children.
I was raised primarily in the Laurens area of New York, and attended Laurens Central School, and Oneonta High School.
I was an Enlisted Woman in the late 70's and early 80's, U.S. Army. (NOTE: The enlisted woman description, I never was a WAC! LOL)
I am the mother of 5 children, 3 boys and 2 girls.

Marlene the SAHM/WAHM

What's a SAHM? Answer: Stay at Home Mom

Being a SAHM has its ups and downs, pros and cons. I worked for several months outside of the home, when my son was first born, but found that I was working to pay a babysitter. NOT GOOD!!!

What's a WAHM? Answer: Work at Home Mom

AHEM!! All Moms are work-at-home-moms! Even when we work outside of the home, we are still (usually) the primary caregiver for our kids as well as chauffer, chef, maid and chief bottle washer. I will have more to say about this topic on another page.
What I started to say about Work-At-Home-Moms is that the Internet has opened that option up to more women than ever. I will have a LOT more to say about that!

Fun Stuff Online

Being a Netizen is a fun thing! There is a lot to do Online. I'll be sharing some of my favorite things to do Online as well as tools with which to do those fun things.
